Under the pole

At Pompes Japy, we devote special attention to certain humanitarian projects. We have already placed our resources and equipment at the disposal of the UNICEF for the operation “Schools for Africa”. Today, we are extending our support to another humanitarian and scientific initiative christened “Under the pole”.

It is an underwater polar expedition that seeks to study where few men have gone before: under the ice floes of the North and South Poles. This glacial saga began in 2010, in the form of a full dive under the North Pole. The second expedition is scheduled between 2014 and 2015, and will seek to discover the underwater world of the North-Western coasts of Greenland.

Finally, the last planned expedition will leave in 2017 and will visit Antarctica. These missions seek to discover and gain a better understanding of the workings of the underwater polar biotope and of the issues linked to this little-known yet crucial environment. Plans have been made to return with mind-boggling and emotional images, for everyone to enjoy!
